OUGD504 - Studio Brief 02 - Branding

The original appearance of the Kickstarter project.

The project after the re brand, the video would start with the logo.

A mock up of the front of the gallery while the exhibition is on.

Promotional material. 2 posters that could also be used for online promotional, adshells or as seen here, a GIF.
The Equation 26 - 32 = -6 relates to the loss of 6 characters from the arabic alphabet when translated to English.
The blue and green logo are only to be used in pairs, seen here and below.

I have included the use of Farsi here, not only to communicate to an Iranian audience but the use of Arabic in the west can be used to attract attention, due to the pleasant aesthetic of the typography being highlighted as it can't be read as well as the relation to political happenings, creating awkwardness and caution.

Way finding for the exhibition was an enjoyable process. Translating the concept of East to West, Right to Left, Arabic to Latin while considering way finding was dizzying. Including both English and Farsi was essential and added to the authenticity of the exhibition I believed.
When a sign is directing an audience to the right, the arrow will be read first by a English reader (left to right) and lastly by an Arabic reader (right to left) and vice versa. I believe this adds to the concept throughout the exhibition creating more of a theatre.

Ticketing for an event is often left unconsidered, as I mentioned before, I wanted to create a fully immersed experience for the event. A relatively simplistic ticket containing all necessary details with a serrated edge that can be ripped by a gallery worker. I have also included a layer of coloured paper within the ticket, the green and blue I have used in the logo. This added detail adds a sense of preciousness and attendees may be more likely to retain their ticket as well as adding to a sense of theatre around the exhibition.
