OUGD505 / Studio Brief 01 / Identifying a research subject

Identifying  a research subject

It was the viewing of this interview with Stephen Fry that lead my focus to Religion as a general topic initially:

From this video and considering religion in general, it became apparent that everyone has an opinion on the topic. I began to look at other's opinions:

Richard Dawkins - The infamous atheist

The Invention Of Lying presents religion as a great lie.

Tom Cruise on Scientology

Brandon Flowers on being a Mormon

It is clear that religion is a great topic and the varying opinion on the matter varies incredibly.

The relevance of religion in contemporary society is a well reported subject, primarily because of the conflict it has caused unfortunately.

My interest in youth culture is something I'd like to integrate with religion; two topics that have great applicability with a commercial market.

Print favourites such as ID and Dazed regularly report on the mergence of the two:

Thom Browne AW14.
