---
Ficciones Typografika is well renowned
platform, with a great social media following, the platform explores
typographic exploration in a public space and digitally.
The attraction for creatives to participate
with the project may derive from interest in conceptual practice alongside the
sufficient professional publicity, whatever the intent for submission, the
project is one of love – it is not run for profit.
My intent in participating in the project
derived from the ability to showcase results from my creative exploration,
there are little platforms that promote self-initiated experiments. The
sufficient publicity and pride as a result of being accepted was also a
pleasure.
Without a brief in it’s traditional sense,
the platform asked for typographic experiments, the result of unorthodox,
concept driven practice.
The aesthetic within my submission ‘FUN FUN
FUN’ derived from exactly that, the practice of enjoying the ability to explore
new typographic forms that may not be freely available in a commercial
environment.
The visual language found within the
submission was then, not an immediate derivation from the traditional idea of
fun but a more personal practice of art – expressing emotion through the visual,
in this case, 2D image.
The technical abilities and explored
through practice I developed in this piece can be seen as a reward, allowing
myself to learn while experimenting developed my skills on Adobe program,
Photoshop.
To have my submission accepted was
brilliant of course, be it to put on a C.V, add to my digital presence or even
use it as an excuse to talk to other contributors – why would I have not
submitted?!
